Islanda will deal with National and International projects specialised on free software.Last 20th April Francisco Vallejo, Counsellor of the Junta de Andalucia Innovation, Science and Business, along with the Chairmen of Guadaltel, Ingenia, Agresso and Novasoft presented the company Islanda (Innovation in Free Software, Analysis and Development of Applications) in the media.
Islanda is an innovative initiative and the first Andalusian Business Cluster among Technology Based Businesses. It will develop technological architectures and platforms based on the free software and with a special emphasis on the transfer to business solutions in the enterprise sector. It will also offer services of a high added value such as: the integration of systems, reengineering in free software, possible types of business and services and business intelligence and EAI. The main goal is to draw together capacities in order to be involved in major projects of large corporations.
The company management foresees that Islanda will turn over 1.1 millions Euros by 2007. A fifth partner, MLK Technology recently set up and taking on the management, has a starting capital of 100,000 Euros.
Likewise, partners have committed to provide a production of 500,000 Euros annually during the following three years with the intent to promote the launch of the company. Based on the figures added by each of the ITC that owns the business, Islanda is amongst the ten first companies of the sector in the country.
Islanda will base its strategy on the fast development, the values of the leadership provided to its clients, its partnerships following a selected programme of technological partners, its collaboration with foundations such as CITIC or CASSFA and the operational research of the Unit MPT (Methods, Processes and Tools) that will be responsible for the start and operation of the Islanda operating pattern.
